Michiel Tellier has worked as a plastic surgeon at the Isala Hospital in Zwolle, the Netherlands for over 20 years. Michiel has a strong background in reconstructive surgery. His specialties include breast reconstruction, hand surgery, cleft palates, and congenital abnormalities. He also specialises in cosmetic surgery of the face, neck, and body.
Michiel has been a member of the Board of the Dutch Society for Aesthetic Surgery for the past couple decades and has extensive experience in the restoration of the most intricate reconstructive surgery, dealing with a highly diverse set of cases. He aims to always help his patients become happier and more comfortable in their bodies.
His interest in the field of Plastic Surgery began in his youth. When he experienced some trauma during a sporting event, his encounter with a plastic surgeon who helped him recover led him to realise he wanted to help others in the same way. Thus, his interest turned career in aesthetic surgery began. His knowledge, experience, technique, and keen eye for the most harmonious result make him a valued member in the world of cosmetic surgery. Michiel understands the art of skin: of understanding the wishes of the patient and translating that into the most subtle and elegant enhancements and reconstructions.
Dr. Colbert’s special clinical interests include cosmetic facial plastic surgery, facial deformity surgery and skin cancer surgery.
Dr. Colbert qualified in medicine at the National University of Ireland in Galway and straight afterwards he qualified in dentistry at University College Cork in Ireland. He completed his Basic Surgical Training in the Severn Deanery and Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Training in the Wessex Deanery. He completed the National Training Interface Fellowship before commencing his position as Consultant in OMFS at RUH. Mr Colbert completed international fellowships in facial deformity at Bruges, Belgium and in advanced rhinoplasty surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He published numerous papers and chapters in peer review journals and world leading Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery international textbooks and presented extensively worldwide receiving national awards for his research. He is active in multiple charities and has participated in numerous surgical charity workshops in developing countries.
